“Tommy Wiseau is perhaps most famous for The Room, a feature-length film which he wrote, directed, and produced and stars in. It was made on a $6 million budget, entirely self-funded. For anyone who’s seen the movie, this man needs no further introduction, but if you haven’t yet gotten the chance to, here are a few clips that should sufficiently acquaint you. He recently appeared as a guest actor on Tim and Eric Awesome Show (Great Job!), and a few weeks later The Room was screened in its entirety on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block.” Read More!

“Normally, I’m not into bad movies for the sake of bad movies – I never was an Ed Wood fan or followed Mystery Science Theater 3000. However, I was reading EW’s recent feature about the 2003 film, The Room by writer/director/producer/actor Tommy Wiseu and it just sounded too good (or, er, bad) not to check out. I first started with this trailer and by that point, I was game:” Click Here to Read the Rest!

Suddenly, a man jumped up on a riser outside the theater and yelled, “5, 4, 3, 2…”! The crowd roared with excitement! The Count’s jaw dropped as if he’d seen a UFO, then a light bulb went off, “Oh my gosh! That’s the guy! That’s ‘Lisa! You’re tearing me apart!’ the guy from the movie!” Then it hit me, it was Tommy Wiseau, the star of the cult film “The Room”! Read What Happens Next by Clicking Here!

The Room, the vanity project of Tommy Wiseau, has eclipsed it’s status as the butt-end to every joke by becoming something of a huge cult hit as ‘the worst movie ever’, full of plot holes, dodgy acting and dialogue so awful that it has to be heard to be believed, The Room goes down as the worst film ever to grace Counting Down The Zeroes. From Dose Magazine in Canada – Every now and then, a movie comes along that defines a generation. Incredibly, the film that has begun to fill that role for 20- and 30-somethings is The Room, a gloriously dreadful story of love, betrayal and awkward dialogue. Click to Read the Full Article

Why are people crazy into The Room? Time Out asked its director and superfans.

It’s late on a Friday night—well after 1am—and the projector at Second Avenue’s Village East has just broken down midfilm. The audience, a loud one, doesn’t seem to care. A scene is already in progress. There’s a tiny band at the end of an aisle (guitar, accordion, cardboard box), stomping out Michael Jackson songs; girls sashay while their dates watch. When the movie finally restarts, the party won’t get any quieter. Characters will be warmly greeted in unison (“Hi, Denny!”) or roundly spanked (“Who are you?!?”). Occasionally, a rain of plastic spoons will be hurled screenward. In a month, these same viewers will reassemble and do it all again.

From Obsessed with Film- When you start talking about the ominous title of WORST FILM OF ALL TIME, several possibilities come to mind. Some films are simply ridiculous and absurd to the point of dismay, like LEPRECHAUN, ALONE IN THE DARK or HOWARD THE DUCK. These are bad movies, for sure. However, films like these are hard to call THE WORST because they have enough competence in them to prevent them from being considered…
